The Belgian capital, Brussels, is preparing to host the Brussels International Forum 2026 – Bridges for Dialogue and Cooperation, organized by International Congress Shield (ICS) in cooperation with the International Diplomatic Council, on 5–6 October 2026. The Forum aims to strengthen international dialogue and foster cooperation among United Nations institutions, European organizations, civil society representatives, diplomats, academics, and decision-makers from around the world.
The event comes at a time when the world is facing unprecedented and interconnected challenges, including escalating armed conflicts and political crises, worsening humanitarian conditions caused by wars, displacement and refugee movements, growing international divisions, rising poverty and food insecurity, and economic pressures affecting the stability of societies. It also takes place amid increasing concerns over hate speech and extremism, widening development gaps between nations, and emerging challenges related to digital transformation and cybersecurity. Furthermore, the growing impact of climate change, environmental degradation, and natural disasters continues to pose serious threats to human security and sustainable development.
Against this backdrop, the Brussels International Forum 2026 seeks to provide an international platform for constructive dialogue, knowledge exchange, and enhanced cooperation among international and regional institutions, civil society organizations, and policymakers. The Forum aims to contribute to the development of shared visions and practical initiatives that promote peace, uphold justice and human rights, and strengthen international partnerships for a more stable and prosperous future.
