At The Shield International Organization, we welcome the announcement of the ceasefire in Gaza. Despite the regional and international complicity against the Palestinians and the delay in this development, we consider this step a victory for humanitarian justice and a reaffirmation of the Palestinian people’s right to live with dignity and self-determination.
The organization points out that the ceasefire comes after a series of massacres and ongoing genocide committed by the Israeli occupation forces against civilians in Gaza, resulting in the killing and injury of thousands of innocent civilians and the destruction of vital infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and homes.
The organization calls for the immediate opening of border crossings and the urgent delivery of humanitarian and relief aid to meet the basic needs of Gaza’s residents. It emphasizes the necessity of allowing international journalists, media professionals, and human rights defenders to enter the region to document the crimes and violations committed by the occupying forces and to expose the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe endured by civilians.
The Shield International Organization asserts that this development marks the end of a painful phase of humanitarian suffering and is the first step toward achieving justice, which must be the foundation for any political settlement. The organization also stresses the importance of ensuring the Palestinian people’s rights to end the occupation, lift the siege, and guarantee a dignified life in accordance with international laws and resolutions.
The organization calls on the international community to take immediate and effective action to hold accountable those responsible for crimes against the Palestinian people and to ensure that such violations are not repeated. It also emphasizes that lasting peace requires genuine international political will to end the occupation and ensure the Palestinian people’s full rights to sovereignty and freedom.
The Shield International Organization reaffirms its commitment to defending human rights and promoting the values of justice and peace, calling for global solidarity to support the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom and the end of their suffering.
